Here is the weather math nobody gives you when you pick a date: a normal East Tennessee November day tops out around 55–60°F, drops toward freezing overnight, and is fully dark by 5:30pm. That is not a reason to move indoors — it is a reason to plan differently than you would in July.

How to Plan a November Outdoor Event in East Tennessee
Six things we tell every church coordinator and Friendsgiving host who calls us in the fall.
1. Book by the last week of September
The last weekend of October and the Saturday after Thanksgiving are two of the busiest dates on our calendar. Book at least 2 weeks out for any peak weekend, and by late September if your date is October 25 through November 2. Our average harvest order runs about $450.
2. A tent alone is not a heat plan
A tent with open sides in 48-degree air is just a roof, and people find that out at 6pm. Pair every tent with outdoor heaters, and plan on sidewalls if the forecast shows wind. Give us your headcount and we will tell you how many heaters it needs.
3. Solve power before you pick attractions
Every inflatable needs a continuous blower and concession machines pull real amperage. Walk your site and count outlets first — if you are in a field, a gravel lot or the back of the property, you need generators, not extension cords, and we carry 12 of them.
4. Dry inflatables only, and here is why
We pull water slides and dunk tanks well before harvest season. Wet vinyl in 40-degree air is a hypothermia and slip risk, and it cannot be dried and sanitized properly between rentals in the cold. Everything on this page is a dry unit.
5. Start the church paperwork now, not the week of
Vendor paperwork is the number one reason a church booking stalls. We are insured and can issue a certificate of insurance naming your church as additional insured, plus a W-9, and we accept purchase orders with net-30 terms. Ask for it when you reserve, not the week of.
6. Plan for dark at 5:30pm
Sunset in Knoxville during harvest season lands around 5:20–5:30pm, so a 4pm-to-7pm event is mostly a night event. Budget for lighting on every path, inflatable entrance and stairway — dark parking lots are where the ankle injuries happen. Put attractions where lot lights already reach.

Harvest & Thanksgiving Rental Questions
How far in advance should we book harvest party rentals?
Book at least 2 weeks out for any peak weekend, and by the last week of September if your date falls between October 25 and November 2 — the busiest stretch of the harvest season in Knoxville. Tents, heaters and generators sell out before inflatables do, and Thanksgiving weekend fills the same way.
What happens if it rains or the wind picks up on our event day?
We watch the forecast with you as your date gets close. Light rain is usually fine under a tent, but sustained winds above roughly 15–20 mph mean inflatables have to come down — a manufacturer safety rule, not a preference. If weather forces a change, we will reschedule you to another available date.
What does it take to reserve, and is the deposit refundable?
A $50 non-refundable deposit plus a signed contract holds your date and your equipment. It is non-refundable because it takes that gear off the calendar and turns away other bookings. The balance is due at delivery, and a weather reschedule carries your deposit to the new date.
Our harvest event is in a field with no power — can you still set up?
Yes — it is one of the most common calls we get in October. We keep 12 generators for field, farm and back-lot events with no outlet in reach. Tell us what you plan to run and we will spec the load before your event.
Can you provide a COI, a W-9, and accept a purchase order?
Yes to all three. We are fully insured and can issue a certificate of insurance naming your church or school as additional insured, provide a W-9, accept purchase orders, and offer net-30 terms for established accounts. Ask when you reserve and the paperwork goes out with your contract.
Do you rent water slides for harvest and Thanksgiving events?
No — we run dry inflatables only once the cold weather arrives, with no exceptions. Wet vinyl in 40-degree air is a real hypothermia and slip hazard for kids, and units cannot be dried and sanitized properly between rentals in the cold. Everything we deliver in harvest season is set up dry.
Can we set up inside our gym or fellowship hall instead?
Absolutely — plenty of Knoxville churches move indoors for the cold months. We need the ceiling height, the door width we have to get through, and an outlet within reach of each blower. Indoor setups use sandbags instead of stakes and skip heaters, generators and tents entirely.
